Collaborative Family Law Approach to a
Peaceful Divorce
CSI is part of the "Collaborative Divorce ICT" group of experts who help families work through divorce in a non-litigious way. This approach helps families preserve their relationships, mental and emotional health and keeps financial exposure as low as possible. This approach is successful with or without family businesses and is extremely beneficial for families with children.
Each Collaborative Divorce team consists of the two parties of the divorce, two attorneys who educate and advocate for each party, yet work collaboratively, a mental health provider (often an experienced certified mediator) who ensures the mental and emotional needs and aspects of the parties and if relevant their children are taken care of and a financial professional (often a certified wealth advisor) who understands the financial implications of the divorce for the family and is able to advise the parties in ways that allow them to reduce risk and ensures long-term financial wellbeing.
Call us to discuss how your family may benefit from this approach.

Awareness and Skill Training on Co-Parenting & Blended Families for School Districts
CSI specializes in co-parenting approaches and works with individuals and school districts on awareness training and to facilitate and educate child and educator friendly environments. These environments are conducive for co-parents and teachers to interact in ways that allow the children from divorced families to transition peacefully from one co- parent to the other in schools (often a preferred method that limits co-parent exposure) when certain awareness is present and simple accommodations are provided.
CSI will work with Kansas school districts to help facilitate such child and educator friendly environments for the children of divorced families. Contact us to discuss the specific needs of your school district.

Parenting Coordination
for Co-Parents
Parenting Coordination is built on the basis of co-parent mediation with the goal to help co-parents work smoothly within their court-ordered parenting plan in order to raise their child or children. And, when gaps in the parenting plan exist to collaboratively develop additional parenting agreements that are in the best interest of the child or the children and achievable by both co-parents.
Parenting Coordination is a service that is usually court-ordered between 12 and 24 months and is sometimes renewed for a second or third term.
Our Kansas Supreme Court certified Parenting Coordinators are well versed at helping co-parents work together and develop and nurture an environment that will prepare children of a divorced family succeed in life. The CSI PC approach uses a three phased model that will assess the co-parenting ability of co-parents, teach them how to work effectively together and then support them in doing so.

Case Management
For Co-Parents
When co-parenting seems almost impossible Case Management is a solution that helps co-parents work together so that the children of a former relationship may still receive what they need and grow into successful adults.
In Kansas, case management for co-parents involves a structured process to facilitate communication and decision-making regarding child custody, residency, and parenting time. Here are the key aspects of case management for co-parents in Kansas:
-
A district court must issue a case management order appointing a KS Supreme Court certified case manager and specifying the necessary provisions for case management.
-
Case Management is not confidential process and co-parents waive confidentiality under Kansas law.
Strenghtening Families Training
The Strengthening Families Program (SFP) was developed in 1982 by Dr. Karol Kumpfer, Ph.D., and associates, with funding from the National Institute of Drug Abuse. It is an evidence-based parenting program designed to help parents and kids develop happier family relationships, improve mental health outcomes, and help decrease youth alcohol and drug use, violence, and delinquent behavior.
